THE MAKATOTE VIADUCT.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) WELLINGTON, March 9. Mr H. J. H. Blow. Under-secretary for Public Works, says he is somewhat disappointed at the slow progress being made with the construction of the Makatote viaduot by Messrs Anderson and Co., of Christchurch, at a contract price of £53,000. The time for completion was June 15, 1907, but it will be some little time yet before the work is finished. Nevertheless, he thinks the line will be completed by the ondl of this yaar, although, in consequence of certain delays, some of the work has been thrown into the winter.
