OTEKAIKE DISPERSAL SALE. (From Our Own Correspondent.)
OAMARU, March 4. | The sale at Otekaike was continued to-day \ in very wet weather, in consequence of which the attendance suffered somewhat as compared with that of the first day. but the improvement in values was well maintained. Local buyers for the mo3t part outbid those from north and south, and a large proportion of the sheep will remain in North Otago. The continuance of the rain enables local graziers to face the winter with a good deal of confidence, and lambs were keenly competed for. The lambs and wethers came- forward in good condition considering the past dry weather. The following are the prices at which sale 9 were effected: — 300 three-quarter-bred wether lambs at 12e to D. Dench; 265 do at 12s, G. Tulbot; 638 three-quaiterbred ewe lambs at 13s Id, H. Cunningham ; 3582 halfbred ewe lambs at 13s 6d. J. V. M'lntyre; 1432 do at 13s 6d, H. G. EUis; 200 do at 13s 6d, W. See; 1200 do at 13s 6d, Deal Bros.; 450 do at 13s 6d, G. Freeman; 300 do at 13s 6d, J. Hannah; 200 halfbreds wether lambs at 10s 4d, D. Jardine; 200 do at 10s 4d, W. Munro; 2000 do at 10s, , — , Robertson; 300 do at 10s, W. Stewart ; 453 do at 10s 2d, H. Edwards; 694 halfbred lambs, mixed, sexes, at 9s, W. G. Cameron ; 1000 halfbred wethers, two-tooth, at 12s 7d, D. Jardine; 978 do at 12s 2d, C. gtudholme; | 775 three-quarterbred wethers, four-tooths, at 12s 4d. M'Lennan; 390 halfbred wethers, fourtooth, 12s 7d, D. Jardine; 400 halfbred wethers, six and eight-tooth, at lls Bd, D. Jaidine ; 1000 do at lls 7d, Kelcher Bros. } 200 do at lls 7d, D. Jardine; 908 do at lls 7dj M'Lennan i 560 haltbxed wethers, six
and eight-tooth, fat, at 13s 4d, Christchurch Meat Company. Stud merino ewes sold at up to a guinea each, and halfbred rams at up to £1 155., and others in smaller lots at up to one guinea .each ; merino rams one and a-quarter guineas. Draught horses were sold as follows: — A Sandy Erskine mare brought £47 10s, and a Lord Rfinfurly mare £51 ; geldings sold at up to £43 for good sorts.
