COUNTRY SALES.

The National Mortgage and Agency 'Company of New Zealand (Ltd.) reports having held a clearing sale for Mr W. S. Thomson, of Clinton, in conjunction with Messrs D. Reid and Co., at the Clinton s«leyards on the 3rd inst. As Mr Thomson had disposed of his property the whole of his live and dead stock were .offered for absolute sale. There w«s a very large attendance of buyers, who competed spiritedly fcr the sheep. The horses and implements were not in such good demand. The following prices were realised: — 1120 crossbred ewes, 16s; 546 lambs, 12s Id; 35 cull lambs, 7s Id; 70 da, 6s sd; 24 woolly sheep, 17s 3d; 676 wethers, 13s; 160 do, 10s 3d; 40 cull ewee, 10s 3d; 100 full-mouthed ewes, 9s 10d ; 30 do, 5s 6d; 25 aged rams, to 15s 9d ; light draught geldings, to £21 10s; hackneys, to £13 10s; two-year-old colts and fillies, to £11. Implements, harness, and sundries were disposed of at fairly satisfactory prices. The same firm also reports selling, in conjunction with Dalgety and Co., at the same time and place, on account of Mr R. Tout, who has disposed of part of his Clydevale property, the undermentioned sheep: — 313 two-tooth crossbred ewes, 19s 10J; 573 Corriedale cross ewea, 17s 6d ; 260 wetiicis, 17s Id. The National Mortgage and Agency Company (Ltd.) report having sold and delivered the balance of the Waipahi Estate sheep to the buyers of various portions of the estate: — To Messrs Beswick. Henderson, and Craighead— 1500 ewe 3 and 1500 lambs; to A. E. Dixon— soo ewes and 500 lambs; to Francis Banks — 1500 ewes end 1535 lambs; to J. Banks— sßß ewes and 242 lambs; to T. L. Johnstone — 1700 ewes and 606 lambs; also, to Doughs Estate, Clyde vale— looo ewes. On account of W. Gordon, Berwick, the company reports the sale of a prime line of 70 head bullocks at £10 ss.
