DUNEDIN HORSE SALEYARDS.

AVnglit, Stephenson, and Co. (Ltd ) r«» port as follows. — The eatry for last Saturday's sale was a rather small one, and, with two or three exceptions, was composed of animals rather on the aged side. The attendance was good, the town contractors, as well as a fair number of farmers, being in the yard on the lookout fcj horses suitable to go into immediate work. For draughts the demand is good, and whenever anything young, staunch, and showing quaLty is offered it meets a ready sale at satisfactory prices. At the present time we have numerous inquiries for heavy four and five-year-old mares and geldings, but unfortunately r.?v.e of "Ih.s cl..=s is coming forward. It is with the utmost confidence we recommend clients having such to dispose of to> try our weekly auctions. Old and sta!e> horses are most difficult to place: in fact, they are almost unsaleable. Strong, reliable spring-carters, if fresh from the country, co-n-niand a lot of attention, and whenever animals of this class are put on the market they realise excellent values. We quote: Superior young draught geldings, at from £45 to £50; extra good do (prize-winners), at from £50 to £55 ; superior young draught mares, at from £50 to £60; medium draught mares and geldings, at from. £30 to £40; aged do, at from £15 to £20; well-matched carriage pairs, at from £70 to £100; strong sprmg-va.il horses, at from £25 to £30; miikcart and butchers- order-cart horses, at from £18 to £35; light hacks, at from £8 ta £13; extra good hacks and harness horses, at from £13 to £25 j weedy and aged do, -at from £$ to £7.
