SUPPOSED SUICIDE.

NAPIER," February 18.

The police have been advised that a Native named Kine Hutana was found at Woodhill last evening, shot through the breast and with a gun 'beside him. The circumstances suggest suicide. Hutana was out on bail on a charge of petty theft, and was also suspected of a further theft. Deceased was interviewed by a constable at Porangahau on Thursday last, and after the interview he stole the constable's horse and got away. The rifle with which the deed was committed is also suppoeed to have been stolen.
