THE MINISTERING CHILDREN'S LEAGUE.

The annual meerinff of the Ministering Children's League was held at. Mrs Keith Ramsay's" residence on the 17th inst., and was attended by Mrs Butterworth (in tho chair), Mrs Keith Ramsay, Mrs Henry Williams, and Misses Merchant, Simpson, All-en, Williams, and Ramsay. The following report for the year ended Decainber 31 last, was presented: — During the past year the work of ih« league has been carried on by tlie following committee ■ — President, Mrs Butterworth J vice-presidents. Mesdames Keith Ramsay and! Henry Williams; trustees, Messrs Waltet Hislop and J. M. Ritchie ; lion, treasurers* Miss Simpson and Miss Williams; hon. secretary, Wiss Ramsay ; committee — Mesdames Benham, Denniston, Fulton, Linda Ferguson. Galloway, Nisbet, J. M. Ritchie, Sinclair Thomson, Sargood, White, and Miߣ«r Allan, Hislop, Marchant, Milter, B. Millet and Maclean. The general committee, assisted by the Braemar House Branch, hel<|a moat successful fete last M»rch at " M»ninoto," when the sum of £88 14a 3d waa realised. In August a supplementary b»1«" of work was held by the Braemar House branch in First Church Hall, the proceeds *.of which amounted to £21 7s Bd, making a ■ total of £110 Is lOd. A donation of 2s IJ<J, - the proceeds of a home sale, held by the Misses ■ Saigood, was received by the secr«tary im December. Seven children have been sent away during the year for a change of air, at a total cost of £12 4s 3d, and £10 was divided between St Mary's Orphanage and! the Presbyterian Orphanage as a donation to the childrens' holiday fund. The incoma from money invested *in the Aucklandi Gas Company and the Dunedin Savings Bank amounted to £25 0s 6d, leaving a balance of £3 6s 3d. The assets amount to £591 18a 2Jd. Owing to Miss. Teusley being unable, through ill-health, to undertake the car* of the children, arrangements have been made to board them with Mrs Cockerill, »t Palmer--ston. The membership keeps up well, but is fluctuating, owing to the fact thftt it consists largely of Girls' High School and Br*em«B House pupils, who are apt, on leaving schoor, to cease taking an active interest in the work of the league. The- th»nk» of the committee are due to numerous friends who have assisted in various ways during the year, particularly to Mr P. R. Sargood ton the use of his grounds for the fete, and to the First Church Deacons' Court fox the user of rooms in which to hold meetings, and 0$ the hall for the sale of work. Votes of thanks to the treasurers (Misses Williams and Simpson) and to the secretary (Miss Ramsay) concluded the business of the meeting.
