Bidding all round was not very keen, but under the hammer and privately afterwards we disposed of a good proportion of the entry. We had ' consignments from Purakanni, North Taieri, Gore. Clarendon. Milton, and a number of entries from in ar^ around Dunedin. Aged and done horses are somewhat hard to dispose of, but young horses of all classes, sound and staunch, find ready purchasers at late prices. We quote Good useful draught mares and geldings (young and sound), from £35 to £i 5; lighter sorts and older, £23 to £38, heavy lorry pairs from £80 to £100; useful plough mares and geldings, £30 to £40; pedigree Clydesdale mares, to £150; good sorts of Cljdesdale mares, suitable for stud puiposes and "general faim work, £40 to £47; carnage pairs, £80 to £100; spring carters (good sorts), from £20 to £32; upstanding buggy mares and geldings, from £15 to £22; hackneys, from £12 to £18: lighter sorts, from £7 to £12.
