(Oamaru) on Saturday offered at auction in Oamaru the leases of a number of properties at Hakataramea. held by the Canterbury Agricultural College Board of Governors. There was a large attendance, the sa-le attracting a good deal of attention. The following properties were sold for leases of 14 years: — Hogget run, 7150 acres, £760 per annum, to Mr J. Fitzaimmons; back hogget run, 14,650 acres, together with reserve A, 835 acres, at £400 per annum, to IC.Z. and A. Laud Co. ; top block, 14.850 acre 3, £430 per annum, to the same buyer; reserve D, 570 acres, at 2s lid per acre, and reserve E, 485 acres, at 3s Id, to Mt W. H. Ross; reserve B, 672 aore3, at 23 4cL, and reserve C. 226 «Lcres, at 2g, to Mr A. Hayes, jun. At the same time th« same auctioneers offered the fee simple of certain freehold properties in the Hakateramea Valley, ■with the following results: — • Reserve G, 204 acre?, at £2 10s per acre, to Messrs Keleher Bros. ; reserve X, 572 acres, at £2 10s per acre, to the same buyers ; reserve H, 27 acres, passed at 20s, the upset being 403 per acre ; reserve IoI o 100 acres, at £1 10s, to Mr B. O'Brien ; reserve J, 32 acres. at £2 15s per acie, to Mr W. H. Rosa. DUNEDIN HORSE SALE YARDS. Messrs "Wiight, Stephenson, and Co. report a.3 follows: — lhere was a small entry of horses forward for last Saturday's sale, and. as^ is customary on a lace day, there was a rather small attendance of the public. Yeiy few draught hordes were in. the yard, and those that weie entered weie mostly aged and inferior, consequently few animals in tins class changed hands. Amongst the lighter horses weie a few really good sorts, and for such, good prices were obtained. A nice upstanding geldmg found a new owner at £26 10s, a brown gelding at £22, a bay mare at £21. Whenever good animals are put on the market they always realise excellent puces. Heavy young diaught geldings for town work," also upstanding spring-carters continue scarce, and any coming forward command full rates. We quote: Superior young draught geldings at fiom £45 to £50; extra good do (prize-winners), at from £50 to £35; superior young draught mares at from £50 to £60; medium draught mares and geldings, at from £30 to £40; aged do, tit fiom £15 to £20; ■well-matched cariiage pairs, at from £70 to £100 ; strong spring-van horses, at from £25 to £30 ; milk-cart and butchers' order-cart ( horses, at from £18 to £35 ; light hacks at , from £8 to £13; extra good hacks and harness horses, at from £13 to £25; weed£ and aged < . do. at from £5 to £7. j
