Fat Cattle. — There was a iair yarding of 169, chiefly of good quality cattle, for which there was brisk bidding. Cows" and heifers were not in demand, and sold at about las-t week's rates. Good cattle were from 6s to 10s per head higher than, at last sale. Uest cattle brought from £10 to £10 10s, extra to £11 12s 6d; good. £8 10s to £9 10s; medium, £7 10s to £8; best cows and heifers, £6 10s to £7 10s,; light and inferior, £2 15s to £4 10s. R-abbitskins. — The next e°ale will be held on the 24th insl. Sheepskins. — The usual fortnightly sale was held on the 18th inst., when a medium catalogue was offered to a good attendance of buyers. Bidding was brisk, but prices did not show any advance on late rates, except for lambskins. Best halfbred brought from 7£d to 8d ; medium to good, 6d to 7d : beef crossbred, 6d to 6Jd; medium to good, SS-d to 6d;i light and inferior, 4d to 4Jd ; lambskins (best), 5Jd to 6Jd ; medium to 'good, 4d to sd ; merino (best), 6d to 6Jd; medium to good, 5Jd to Cd. Hides — The next sale will be held on th« 20th inst. Tallow.— There is not much coming forward, and anything good meets with a ready sale. Best rendered tallow bring 3 frotnt 22s to 24s (casks) ; medium 1 to gco<J. 19& to. 21s 6d ; poor and inferior, los to 17s ; best rough fat, 17s to 19s ; medium to good, 14s to 16s ; inferior, 10s to 12s 6d. Grain. — Oats : There are a large number of new samples in the market, coming 1 chiefly, from the north. For best samples 2s to 29 Id on trucks has been procured. There are a very few old samp'es in the ..market, an<l these are selling chiefly for feed purposes. Quotations — For prime milling, 2s 3d; good to best feed, 2s 2d to 2s 2}d ; inferior to medium, 2s to 2s ljd per bushel (sacks extra. Wheat: There is a fair amount of business being 'done in wheat, but the markets in the north bzing higher than local quotations holders are not disposed ta sell. Fowl wheat is scarce, and commands prices equal to milling values. Prime milling, 4a 5Jd to 4s 6d ; medium to good, 4s id to 4s 5d per bushel (sacks extra)^ Chaff. — There is a fair *amount of new chaff coming forward, and it is in good demand for local feed purpose". There is c good deal being shipped, and this tends to keep prices at late rates. Potatoes. — The market is fairly well supplied, and' prices Lave receded slightly. Best freshly-dug lots, £5 to £5 10s; medium to good, M to £5 (bags- in). Straw. — There is not much demand.
