COMMITTEE v. EDUCATION BOARD.
DISPUTE REGARDING BIBLE 4 INSTRUCTION. WANGANUI, February 24. At the Supreme Court this morning * case was heard in which the Wajiganui School Committee applied for *n injunction against the Education Board restraining ip from refusing to allow the committee to regulate school hours, bo as to admit of Bible instruction in ordinary school hours. The committee had fixed hours providing for instruction during the school hours, bufc the board refused to sanction this arrangement. The committee then applied for an. injunction. Mr Justice Cooper decided that the committee had no power to fix the hour?, which matter rested with the board, and that the committee was under the board's authority. His Honor advised the parties interested to come to a mutual arrange* ment, as was done at NeUon.
