THE PRIME MINISTER
NORTH OF AUCKLAND TOUR. AUCKLAND. February 23. The Prime Minister commenced his North' Auckland tour to-day, leaving at 3 p.m. in the Kanicri for Whangaroi. Monday is to be spent in Whan^aroi, and on Tuesday. Sir Joseph proceeds via Hukercnui anil Kiwakawa to Russell. \Veduesday will bo spent in Russell, and on Thursday he goes on by eteamer to Mango-nut. Leaving Mangonui on Friday morning, he will go on toi Whangaroa, Kaca, and Ohaewai, where a; social will take place. The party will leave Ohaeawai on Saturday, and visit Kaikohe, Horeke. and Kohukohu. Sunday will be spent quietly at Opononi, and the following day Sir Joseph will ero on by launch to Taheko, arriving; at Kahu during the afternoon. The itinerary for tho remainder of the trip will be adjusted later on. WHANGAREI, February 24. The Prime Minister, with Lady Ward, arrived at Whangarei from Auckland very early this morning. Deputatione dealing 1 with the North of Auckland railway, ' Grahamstown to Kawakawa railway extension, and matters of local interest were received at 10 a.m. In the -afternoon the Prime Minister laid the foundation stone 'of the new Presbyterian Church. He I delivers a political address to-night.
