OLD-AGE PENSIONS.
PARIS, February 18
M. Viviani, Minister of Labour, speaking in the Senate, acknowledged that it was impossible for the State to contribute above £4,000,000 annually towards old-age pensions. The Government was willing to find that amount, and to provide a pension based on a ■worker's contribution of 2 per cent, of their wages, the masters adding a further 2 per cent.
