LADIES' CHALLENGE SHIELD ' The match for the Ladies' Challenge shield ■was fired at the Pehchet Bay range on Saturday afternoon. The weather was extremely boisterous and unfavourable for good shooting, and yet some very good scores were put up In this connection may be mentioned Colour-sergeant Biyce, whose total of 9S is one of the best yet put up in this popular annual match. Captain Proudfoofc acted as range officer, aud the following* are the scores — LADIES' CHALLENGE SHIELD. Corditions- Seven shots and one optiona/ sighter at 200, 500, and 600 yards. The old blockhouse and barracks a£ Opunake are to be dismantled. A portion will be erected on the beach in the bay to serve as a dressing shed for bather*
