The wheat crop at Hawea is a remark* ably fine one all round, and there will L# a large quantity tor sale there. In som« ca-es the yield will be very high. It is a great pity that the exceptionally, large \ ields of apricots and plums in this? district cannot be utilised. Tons anc 1 ton* are going to wa-=te. several parties allowing the fruit to fall off the trees and they thew bury it. They contend that it will not paw them to forward the fruit to Dunedin, anil there is no demand for it locally.
