EXPLOSIONS IN A COLLIERY
. o» - MANY MEN ENTOMBED. SERIOUS LOSS OF LIFE FEARED. DURBAN, February 14. An explosion at the Glencoe colliery. Natal, entombed 12 Europeans and 40 native miners. February 15. Eight natives have been rescued. A second explosion entombed Mr Muir (inspector of mine=>), five other Emor-eans, and 25 natives. Further explosions being imminent, fresh rescue parties weie not allowed to proceed. It fe feared that 27 people h.ue perished.
