QUEENSLAND AFFAIRS. BRISBANE, February 14. After a caucus of his party Mr Philp waited on the Governor and tendered his resignation as Premier. He declines to give any information a 6 to what advice he gave the Governor. February 16. Mr Kidston will wait upon the Governor, and it is understood that 'ie will be asked to form a Ministry. February 17. Mr Kidston has undertaken the formation of a Ministry. THE FEDERAL TARIFF. LONDON, February 12. The Earl of Arran, presiding at the meeting of Bovril (Ltd.), said he much regretted having to cut down the Australian business owing to the increaFed import duties. Mr George Lawson Johnston, vicechairman, said that Austialia for 20 years had been the company's favourite source of supply for raw material. He thought Australia would have been the last place to raise the duties against them. He had rather hoped for preference.
