Mrs Goold will shoitly be sent to Cayenne, where she will be imprisoned. The island of Cayenne is separated from the Continent of South America by a narrow channel. It is 30 miles in circumference, and has an extremely unhealthy and fever-induoing climate. It was connected by telegraph with Demerara, and thus with Europe, in 1891. The population of Sydney aid suburbs at the end of last year was 550,600. The marriage rate is the highest since 1888, and the birth rate the highest for the last 10 years. ADELAIDE, February 15. Mr Arthur Streeton, son of a Government official, swallowed a tooth that was attached to a gold plate. It stuck in his gullet, and he died after an operation. Deceased was on the eve of his marriage, and the ceremony was gone through while he was dying in the hospital. February 17. For the Senate election Mr Vardon, the Liberal candidate, is well ahead of Mr O'LoghlLn, the Labour candidate, and is practically sure to win the seat.
