On the sth. inst the annual outing of the association. , was held at the Ocean Beach, near Camp- ■ belltown. The weather was perfect, and? , there was a large attendance. The Freezing Company has extensive buildings ia the locality, and the dinner was served in a large hall. The President (Mr J. W. , Mitchell) occupied the chair, and 1 Mr Thomas Fleming (hon. secretary) efficiently suoervised the arrangements. The Chairman proposed the toast of "The King and Royal Family," which was drunk with musical honours.' He then requested Mr Andrew Kinross to recite a poem composed for the occasion. The request was oomDlied with, the Doem and its composer being well received. As there was a desira to return to the- sunshine, the toasts were few and the speeches short. A narrow ridge divides the upper part of Bluff Harbour from the ocean, and there is a fin« sandy beach, on which the children from two Invercareill schools were enjoying themselves. Afterwards some of the members went on to Canrnbelltdwn before returning to Invercargill by train.
