NUMBERS THROWN OUT OF WORK. CHRISTCHURCH, February 7.
Sympathy was widely expressed to-day with the larce number of shop assistants and other workers who are temporarily thrown out of employment. The largest, number was connected with the D.I.C. the staff there numbering between 200 and 300. The New Zealand Clothing Factory gave employment to some 16 men and 14 female*.
