AVONDALE RAILWAY ACCIDENT.

AUCKLAND. February 6. The sequel to the collision between * railway engine and a waggonette at Station road, Avondale, on January 23, took place at the Police Court this afternoon, where the driver of the latter vehicle, a young ' man named Efcnry Farrar, was charged? with having failed to take notice of the ' warning, " Stop ! Look out for the engine" ; and, further, with having driyeo. over the crossing at other than a walking pace. Farrar appeared in court with his arm in a sling. I Sergeant Hendry described the crossing as a "rather dangerous one," and as the defendant had suffered considerably, ho 1 did not press for a heavy penalty.
