LONDON, February 5.
Mr Taverner (Agent-general for Victoria) interviewed Mr Lloyd-George in connection with the Port of London Bill, and urged that greater facilities should be given for discharging perishable products by reducing the number of handlings.
Mr Lloyd-George, who was sympathetic, said he recognised the growing trade, and would be glad to a.ssist in securing up-to-date facilities and the abolition of obsolete accommodation. He would ask for a copy of Mr Taverner's central depot report, promising upon the receipt of other infor« mation to give his best attention to th* mattei*.
