DISCRIMINATING AGAINST UNIONISTS. NEW YORK, January 28. Re discriminating against members of labour organisations in matters of employment, the United States Supreme Court has held that the master mechanics of the Louisville-Nashville Tailroad were entitled to discharge a man from their employ because he was a member of a labour organisation. UNEMPLOYED TN AMERICA. NEW YORK*, January 31. The secretary of the American Federation of Labour 6ta.tes that there are 400,000 more unemployed in the United States than usual. These are chiefly domiciled in New York, Chicago, and St. Louis. GOVERNMENT DOCKYARDS. LONDON, January 31. Lord Tweedmouth (First Lord of the Admiralty), replying to a deputation from the Parliamentary Committee of the Trade Union Gongress, declined to aboTish the premium and bonus system in the Government dockyards. TROUBLE AT NAPLES. NAPLES, January 30. The dockers at Naples have struck. They tr-ieel to sink the vessels in the harbour. They also came into conflict with the police, and many of the dockers were thrown in the harbour.
