Hides. — The sales take place on January 9 next. Tailow and Fat. — There is fair inquiry, but values have an easier tendency. Quotations; Prime mutton tallow, 22s to 24s per cwt; medium tallow, 18a to 225; mixed, 15a to 18s; best rough fat, 17s to 19s; medium, 15s to 17s; inferior, 12s to 15s. Grain. — Wheat: There has been very little business passing in this market since the holidays, and consequently quotations in milling qualities are nominal. Fowl wheat meets with slow sale at quotations: Prime milling, norainaJly, 5s to 5s 3d; medium to good, 4s 3d to 4s lid; whole fowl wheat, 43 6d to 4s 9d; broken and damaged, 4s to 4s 5d per bushel (ex store, sacks extra). Oats: Shippers and millers are both out of this market meantime. Sales for some time past have been confined principally to small lines for local feed purposes. Values are easier. Quotations: Prime milling, 2a lOd to 3s; medium to good., 2s 6d to 2s 9d; inferior, 2s 4d to 2s 5d per bushel (ex store, sacks extra). Chaff. — The market is fully supplied.^ and buyers are not disposed to operate at v late - quotations. Extra prime bright heavy oaten sheaf is principally in request, and commands to £4 15s; other sorts are saleable at quotations. Extra choice, £4 15s; prime oaten sheaf, £4 7s 6d to £4 12s 6d; medium to good, £3 IBs to £4 5s per ton, sacks extra. . Potatoes. — Buyers for the most part are now confining their attention to • new potatoes. The few' lines of old sorts still remaining in stores are in very indifferent condition, and failing immediate outlet as pig feed agents will be compelled to cart these consignments out as refuse; value as pig feed, 6d per sack. Straw. — The market is bare of stocks.
