REPORTED SALE OF THE TIMES
LONDON, January 5. The Observer "reports " that' "negotiations are in progress to sell The TinieS to the proprietors of several magazines and newspapers.
Mr A. F. Walter denies the report that the direction of The Times will pass : out of the Walter family.
The Chronicle states that Lord Northcliffe, Sir W. Newnes, and Mr C. A. Pearson declare that the report that The Times is to be sold to th© proprietors of several magazines and newspapers does not refer to them.
