RUNS AMOK IN CAR. ! .VANCOUVER, November 26. Kenneth Whiteside, a young millionaire, of New Haven, loved dainty Willjford Wheaton so desperately that he lost his reason, and his relatives put him in a mental hospital. Early to-day Kenneth stopped taking the cure long' enough to escape, steal an automobile, and kidnap his intended bride. With a pass-key, he entered her father's house, and induced the girl to come outside, aixS talk it over. Then, flinging her into the ear, he started n wild ride. Whiteford knocked two milkmen off the highways as he tore through the Connecticut countryside at a speed of 60 miles an hour. Policemen «m motor-cycles chased him through the busiest, -streets of Hartford. The crash came in the centre of the city, when he ran over a boy, killing him instantly, and then wrecked four motor-cars, causing several broken legs and arms.
Finally the young millionaire's car capsized. The girl was badly hurt, while Whiteside, a raving maniac, fought the police.
