The chairman and others expressed pleasure at Mr. Budkin's promotion. j From Otaki Borough Council relative to a meeting in the interests of the radium fund. —Received, meet- I ing having been held. It was pointed out that in view of the appointment of Miss Gourlay the staif ■would have to be re-arranged. The repairing of the pump was considered unsatisfactory and it was agreed to secure prices from local plumbers relative to the cost of laying pipes for high-pressure water. It was decided t'o secure a set of nature studies, to be displayed in the class-rooms. It was resolved to secure school priz'es locally, and to expend rip to £lo. ' It was stated that already the sum of i £<J 2s 7d was available, and ,nat| from collections by children the amount needed could easily be raised.
