THREE STAR PICTURES TO-NIGHT. “Shirley of the Circus,” in which the charming Fox star, Shirley Mason is starred, will be the piece de resistance at the Lyric pictures to-night. Aliss Alason is seen as a daring stunt rider of a circus and licr many startling feats of horsemanship provide thrills a plenty. Reginald Denny who is appearing in the new series of the “Leather Pushers” will provide all sport loving patrons with all the thrills of the “ring.” This is a brand new series of these popular stories and are bound to please. A special Clyde Cook comedy, “The Guide and the over popuur Fox news complete the programme.

ALIOE BRADY INA' A,NNA ASCEND»,” A “Anna Ascends,” Alice Brady’s latest Paramount picture, which opens at the Lyric pictures next Friday, is rich in love interest and emotional climaxes. It is the romance of an ambitious Syrian girl who comes to this country to make her fortune. She has little money, and goes to work as a waitress in a coffee house in New York. There sbe meets Howard Fisk, a newspaper reporter, who comes to the coffee house to run down a tip ot a jewel smuggling plot, in which n Russian baron, a count, and a countess arc involved. Anna and Howard, the latter role played by Robert Ellis, fall in love, but that is only the begin; ing of tlie lively ste-y. Tin- final chapter of “ fa the days of Buffalo Bill” will be presented on the same programme, and in addition Johnny Hines in “Torchy’s Nut Sundae” and a Burton Holmes travelogue and gazette. Parents' are asked to please note that the matinees for children will commence again next Saturday, and in addition to the full programme, which is headed with Jack Londons’ story “Burning Daylight,” a new educational series entitled “Around the World in Eighteen Days” will be'screened.
