OTAKI RIVER BOARD.
MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the above was held on Thursday night. Present: Messrs G. H. Harper (in the chair) F. J. Ryder, V. D. Preston-Thomas, J. S. Robinson, and H. B. Lethbridge. The chief business of the meeting was in connection with the proposed No. 1 and - Protective Works'as outlined by Mr. Lahig-Meason in his report and as previously published in the "Otaki Mail." It was decided to borrow the sum of £750 for the purpose of carrying out the River Protection Works, know ;i as No. 1 Protective Works, and that the said sum of £7ao shall be repayable in 3d years from the date of the commencement of the term of the loan or at such other earlier period 'as the Board may determine. The same applies to No. 2 Protective Works. It was also decided thai the special order, resolution as to advertising and the date of the poll, be advertised as required by Statute.
