RUGBY UNION MATTERS
MA.NAuEMI-NT COMMITTEE MELTS. The management committee of the tJorowhenua Uugby Union, met on Tuesday evening, Mr J. Procter being in the chair. Also present: Messrs Scitiscia, McMillan, Austin, Hatchings and the secretary (Mr L. Canniehaeij. MANAWATU BED. FIXTURE. Proposed by Mr J. Procter, seconded by Mr H. McMillan, that it be a recommendation to the incoming committee lor the 15)34 season, that the ManawaUi v. Horowihcnua rep. game for 1024, be played at Foxton.—Cartied. Proposed by Mr Procter, seconded by Mr McMillan, that the secretary be granted an honorarium of £25 for Ms services. This was carried unanimously, a hearty vote.of thanks being passed to the secretary lor the able manner in which he had conducted the business of the Union during the past- season. I; was resolved that, owing to a statement to the contrary having appeared in a paper within the. Union, it bo placed on record that the goal posts are Hie property of the. clubs which control the grounds on which they are erected. At the conclusion ol the meeting rite chairman expressed his .appreciation of (he manner in which the committee has pulled together during the past season, and of the excellent attendance of members. These facts had made his position n very pleasant one. and' bad aided materially in making the past, season what it was—one of the most successful in the union's historv " A hearty vote of thanks to the chair concluded the. meeting.
