The meeting- of the above will be held at Levin on Monday, when Mr. Evelyn Macdonald. of Te Horn, will i move:—"That we, as dairy-men. reaffirm the need of better methods of control, of the export, marketing, and general handling of our dairy produce; we believe that we, the producers, should exercise this control, and should have Statutory power to enable us to effectively do so, subject to National expediency and Government veto. We endorse and approve the election of a. Council or Board, if such election is based on a sound Democratic method, and such Council or Board is made a responsible and efficient body, ihe Crown to have on,, representative thereon: such Council or Board io cooperate as far as possible, with other responsible bodies having a. similar aim. We endorse and approve the principle of pooling, and of having the power of compulsion within equity and for general good, but we believe that the Bill before us doe- not offer tin: best means of realising these aims, and should therefore be referred back for further amendment, am! the addition ol full and complete machinery clauses
hi the above direction." The meeting will be an important one, and dairymen hould attend.
