WANTED-CONVENIENCES.
£lO TO HE EXPENDED. At yesterday's meeting ol‘ the Otaki Borough Council, the Mayor said it was time conveniences were provided in the , town J'or women and children, and he thought £lO could be spent with advantage. In answer to a question he said the Rest Resort committee had expended its money on an obelisk, and it would therefore be some time before money was available from that source for the erection of conveniences. Cr. O’Rourke favoured the Rest tiesort, but the Mayor and Cr. Cockrell said there was an absence of privacy whirl; it i highly accessary. Cr. Kilsby also favoured the resort site, objecting to money being spent on private property. It vras eventually agreed that authority be given to expend up to £B' on a suitable place, an nmeiwl.imuir that conveniences be erected on the resort site being lost. since the meeting, arrangements have been made for conveniences, and an anueiinceuien! will be made later.
