The sale of privileges in connection with the Otaki Maori Racing Club were sold ou Saturday by Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., and realised £ll6, Mr Baker, of Palmerston North, being the successful bidder.
"A brewer’s license is granted under the Finance Act now; I suppose it is a relic of war legislation," remarked counsel in the Supremo Court at Palmerston North, during the hearing of ail appeal case. "You cannot be surprised at what you find in the Finance Act now-a-days," replied His Honour, Sir John Salmond.
