QUEEN CARNIVAL.

MEETING OF THE EXECUTIVE. A meeting of the Executive Commit tee was held at the Council Chamber; on Fridav night, His Worship the Mayor (Mr J. F. Brandon) presiding. All queens were fully represented. Mr Taylor (secretary) read a letter from M r Cyril Day. who made valuable suggestions, many of which were adopted. it was decided that the name of the carnival be ‘‘Otaki Queen < ’tirtitvnl, ’ and that the objects be to raise funds for improving and beautifying the domain. and that: the Borough Council be entrusted with the spending of the money raised, after recommendations had been received from the Executive Committee. It was decided that the Carnival open at 9 a.in. on May F>th and close at midnight op -June loth, and that the Chairman, Secretary. Trea-urer. and two representatives of each queen watch the general ciodtn-t n! the carnival. It was agreed to have four ,'ueei,;Bet:,A. Up i iv-ay. T a. and Naive, supporter.- of each queen to manage their own affairs.
