li ELECTION OF SCHOOL OOMj MITTBE. .. ! The annual election of the School Committee took place on 30th inst. Mr R. G. Maclean, Chairman of the retirI ihg committee, presided. The follow- : ing were nominated and elected without a vote: —Messrs J. Buckley. Er- ' nest Clarke, Win, M. Clunic, P. F. flowell. Frank L. Howell. J. E. Killick and ,R. G. Maclean. Mr R. G. Maclean was ! afterwards appointed Chairman and ', Mr D. F. Howell, secretary. i SOLDIERS' MEMORIAL. Mr Peter Pocket! has received the , contract to erect the Memorial arch tit- . the domain, and the work is progressing rapidly. , | CONCERT. ' A concert was held in the Anglican Sunday school on 26th till., the pro ce'eds being to help to pay the cost of painting the said school. The schoolroom was full. The performers were mostly friends of the Vicar from Wellington and their singing and recitations were much enjoyed. Miss Rene Johnson played the accompaniment-.
