QUEEN CARNIVAL.
A meeting of the supporter.- of the Railway queen (Miss F. Bcvan) was , held last night and was largely attend-
ed. A strong ami enthusiastic committee was formed while Air Ecu ICilmister (secretary) and Mr Pereival were elected to the executive committee. A programme was arranged for the carnival, Another meeting will bo held at an early date when anyone wishing to take part will be invited to join in. A meeting of supporters of the Town queen (Miss O'Rourke) was held last evening in the Council Chambers. Mr T. O'Rourke was appointed chairman, Mr Eddy secretary, and Mi*s Brandon queen's representative on the centre committee. A strong committee was formed with power to add to their number. The queen's colours, cerise and royal blue, were adopted. The Secretary was instructed to obtain permission 10 art union a mineral specimen. It was also decided to hold a shop day on Friday, 18th, and the three foliowii g Fridays, much support being promised.
