OTAKI RIVER BOARD.
MONTHLY MEETING. A meeting of the above Board was held last night. Present: .Messrs G. U. Harper (in the chair), V. Piesto-i-Thomas, .1. s. Robinson, A. .1. Pndeviu, 11. B. Lethbridge, and the Clerk. The lirst. business was the consideration of removal of gravel, etc., by occupiers. It was pointed out that it large quantities were removed a serious menace might be caused by such removal. After discussion it was decided that occupiers bo allowed to remove material, without payment, front the bed of the rivet in their occupation, but only for tlu'ir own use, and during the Board’s pleasure. The classification list was leceived and tabled and approved by the Boaid. It is now open for public inspection at the Board’s office, and an advertisement is to be made calling for objc«t ions. Several accounts were considered and passed for payment. Within the last few day- Mr LaiitgM cason has made an inspect iu.i of the Otaki river bed, and his leporl v.dl lie forwarded at an early date.
