THE COMING ELECTION.
To The Editor. Sir, —It is very pleasing to see a good field for the coming Borough election, mid there is no doubt that the electors i will turn out in full force and elect I members for tha new conneil im th'eir it respective merits. However, with re« J gards to one candidate: Serious con- i j sideration must necessarily be entertained us to the advisability of the stand he is taking and will therefore I give much food for thought to the elecj tors of the Borough Be it remembered that ho was a member of the present Council when, only two months after his attaining civic honours, he resigned and left for other parts. I believe the by-election following his resignation cost the ratepayers quite a handsome little figure. This was when the Maori representative, Mr K. Carkeek, was returned. "What guarantee have we that the candidate referred to will not again leave. He may be a capable man, but that's not everything. Anyway there's the whole position in a nut-shell. —I am, etc., L FORGET-ME-NOT. j Otaki, 23/-1/23. ]
