OUR BOROUGH COUNCIL.

To The Editor. ' Sir, —1 was very pleased to fee the letter in ths “Mail” dishing out a handful of hints to the coming Council. Tes, Sir, I agree there should be no committa* business unless* absolutely necessary. I am for straight-out talk, given openly before any who care to attend. .Still I admit that we have some good Councillors and I can see why one or two desire not to openly express opinions. It is hard on business men —bo as good as they may they are bound to offend someone, and "there are many in Otaki who are exceedingly “touchy.” The half-holiday —well, it’s a ticklish subject, but I prefer Saturday. And why not I It is the sports who support a town, and ! they are deserving of a little consideration. Moll, then give them Saturday —it makes no material difference. —I am, etc., OLD BIRD.
