The Inspector said the road was good, in places slippery when wet. Ur. Ft,lev moved that the request be not acceded to, but Ur. Maekay said he was willing to assist in a small way. Iho Chairman said Odlin was unfortunate in having such a length ot road and deserved help as they had always endeavored to do their best. Lr. Foley nointed out that Odlin went there tor his own benefit, anti hud had a fair deal.

Cr. Maekay said all persons entered places for their own benefit and it was a good job some men with pluck w e-nt into the back blocks. He considered such men should be assisted, and favorLot helping a little. It was agreed to assist in the work. From M. AV. Tliggiuson, requesting

The Clerk said the collection of dog fees f £223) was a record, while other members considered Griffiths had done splendid work. His resignation was *>' cepted with regret. A deputation of Plimmerton ratepayers waited upon the Council, asking for improvements to the water service, suggested that the name of Plimmerton extension be re-named Earehana,

and that necessary fencing be done. A. Pierard wrote asking that an open drain be covered. —It was decided to assist with the work and to ugreo with the name. Inspector's, Report. The Inspector reported that the road between Waikanae and Paraparaumu was being attended to, while he recommended 250 yards of crushed metal be obtained for the Paremata-Pahautanui length, also 299 yards of metal for the road in the vicinity of Pnliautanui. Metal Was also badly needed at Whiteman -'s Valley. The motor lorry had been laid up for a few days through a broken axle. Two men had been put
