HALF-HOLIDAY.
To the Editor. Sir.—Shortly we will be called upon to decide on the half holiday question and the time is rife for someone to move. We have had Saturday, which has suited many, but which has placed our country friends a.t a great disadvantage, and driven trade to other places. If we have Wednesday halfholiday we get a welcome break in the middle of the week, we can then have hockey as well as football, while trade —if prices tire right—will stay in Otaki. I say “if prices are right,’’ liecause 1 know of some who consider they can save money by going from Otaki, and as money is money they cannot be altogether blamed. However, we should support our own tradesmen even if prices are a little higher. They are an obliging lot, the quality of their goods is high, and prices, generally—as far as I know —are reasonable.—l am. etc., PRO BONO PUBLICO.
