In connection with tlie New Zealand Fire Brigades’ deniojislration iu Dunedin, a magnificent display el fireworks was put on by the Chinese residents of Dunedin. Tlie display, which lasted an hour anil n-lialf. was witnessed by a very large crowd, 22,000 people paying lor admittance to tlie grounds. The only stipulation made by the promoters was that 25 per cent of the gate-money should he donated to charities.
