OTAKI’S SUNDAY TRAIN.
In resj3on.se to a numerously-signed requisition of property owners on the railway line between Wellington and Otaki (presented by Mr W. H. Field. M.P.),’ the Railway Department has arranged to defer the departure of the train from Otaki on next Sunday evening from 4.30 to 5.30 j>.m. This will enable residents of the city having seelions on the line, and also others visiting places along the railway on Sunday, to.have an additional hour in the country. At present the train leaves the city at 9.30, reaching Otaki about noon, and returning at -1.30 p.m., which gives a very limited time to visitors to stations between Paokakariki aml Otaki. As the days are drawing in. the arrangement trill not continue after- next Sunday. It is understood, however, that the Railway Department will next summer consider the desirableness of continuing the later hour of the departure of the Sunday train from Otaki.
So far the Otaki S.il. has received no notification relative to the altered time-table for Sunday next.
