* SENIOR CLUE TOR OTAIiI. A meeting of footballers was held in the Council Chambers on Monday night for till* purpose of considering the advisability of forming a senior club for Otnki. Captain Bax presided, and after referring to the splendid attendance —it being a record one —said they had been called together to consider the matter of amalgamation of teams so as to enable the district to produce a senior team rhnt would uphold the honour id the town. Football, he said, had done well in the past, but it was. now the desire to advance it and bring Otnki more into the lime-light. He therefore was in nceerd with others in supporting the formation of a senior club, which could be barked np bv‘ junior Mr Eddy, in supporting the proposal, said last season Otnki was divided, with the result that football was not of a high standard. The formation of one club would improve football, and also lie the means of doing away with ill-feeling which had prevailed among players last season.
Several others also spoke on the same lines, after which it was unanimously’ decided to form one < 'lull, to be known as tin* ‘‘Otnki Cnited.” colours to be green jersey and black punts, subscription for senior and junj ior players to be IN lid each. .
