WEDDING

PEEK—SMITH, A wedding of interest to residents of Otaki and Palmerston North was solemnised at the Cuba Street Methodist Church, Palmerston North, on Wedneslast, when Mr Percy Clifford Peek, youngest son of Mr Samuel Feck, of Palmerston North, was married to Miss Bertha Amelia Smith, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs Albert Smith, of Otaki. The contracting parties are well known and in consequence quite a number of relatives and friends witnessed the ceremony, which was performed by the Rev. Ashcroft. Mr Haybittlc was best man, while Miss Dorothy Smith, sister of the bride, was the bridesmaid. The bride was nicely dressed in a fawn coat frock, saxe blue picture hat. and carried a lovely bouquet of white asters. The bridesmaid was also neatly dressed, being in lemon-colored silk, hat to match, and carried a pretty bouquet of lavender-colored asters and maiden-hair fern. After the ceremony a reception was held at Dustin’s tearooms, when many toasts were honoured, and complimentary references made to the happy young couple. Mr aud Mis Feck afterwards left for Wanganui, where they will spend their honeymoon, after which they will take up residence in Palmerston.

The bridegroom’s gift to his bride was a valuable one. while the bridesmaid received a line wristlet watch. Mr and Mrs Feck were the recipients of numerous presents, including cheques, The young couple carry with them the best wishes of many friends.
