WATERSIDERS’ SECRETARY CHARGED. Wellington, February 15. James George Bruce appeared in the Supreme Court charged with stealing, between July 1, 1921, and July 1, 1922, sums totalling £846 14/10J, the property of the Wellington Waterside Union, of which he was secretary. Evidence on the lines of the Lower Court hearing is being given. SERIOUS ACCIDENT IN AUCKLAND. Auckland, February 15. An old man named Jeremiah O’Reilly had a leg practically severed while attempting to board a moving tramcar. FOXTON DREDGE DAMAGED. Foxton, February- 15. An attempt was made by some unknown person or persons to cut the Harbour Board’s dredge adrift from its moorings at the Wharf last night. The dredge was freed from the ropes, but held by the wire hawser, which it was impossible to unfasten. A certain amount of damage was done by the free action of the dredge. 'The police are investigating.
