OTAKI SALE. Messrs Abraham and Williams report: —At Otaki on Thursday, Sth instant, we 'submitted a large entry of sheep to a large attendance of buyer.;, and despite the inclement weather a good sale resulted, and practically every line changed hands at an advance on late rates. We quote: —6-tooth ewes, 30s Id; S.M. ewes, 23s -id to 2Ss; wether lambs to 13; Id; 2-tooth wethers, 24s 3d to 27s 2d: aged S.D. rams'. £4 -is to £6 (is: aged Shropshire rams, £2 2s: fat cows, £4 5s to £4 17s; fat bullocks, £6 10s; weaner heifers. Dalgety i: Company. Limited, report that at Otaki on Thursday last, there was a heavy entry of sheep, and in spite of atrocious weather condition?, was probably the best sale held in Otaki for years. There was a large and representative attendance of buyers. Bidding was keen and a clearance was effected at prices as under:—
Fat ewes, 275. 28s Gd; mixed wooHy sheep. 335; 2 and 4-tooth ewes, 30s Gd to 335; 2-tooth ewes, 30, to 30s sd; 2--tooth wethers. 25s 9d to 275; shorn lambs to 17s Gd; small lambs. 12s 3d to 15s; F.M. Southdown rams, £5 ss; store bullocks, £5; cows and calves. £5; fat and forward cows, £3 7s Gd to £5; store cows. £2 7s Gd; M.S. weaners, £2 Is,
.Messrs. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report that at Levin on Tuesday they submitted a full yarding of all classes of stock to a good attendance of buyers. Competition was keen and practically every line was sold under the hammer. The price of sheep was firm, whilst -cattle showed a decidedly upward tendency. They quote: Light fat wethers 30 ,i, forward ewes 21, forward lambs 22/3, 2-th ewes 30,, lambs 15/, 15/10, 16;, IS, to 19/1, cull lambs 10,6 to 14/10, breeding ewes off hills 23/6 to 25,3, cull ewes 15,, fat cows £4 to £5, forward cows £2 7,6 to £V, 2/6, cows and calves £3 12/6 to £4 7 6, forward bullocks £6 to £6 9/, 3-year steers £5, bulls 22 to £3 15/, weaner heilers to £2 8/, heifers r.w.b. £3 15,. store pigs 20,6 to 24/6.
