OTAKI BRASS BAND.
ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the above was held last night. His Worship the Mayor (Mr Brandon) presiding. The Secretary (Mr Fielding) reported that there was a credit balance of £4'.) 13s, which was considered very satisfactory. Unfortunately the annua! social had not been held, otherwise the amount would have been larger. The Chairman, in moving the adoption of the balance-sheet, made complimentary reference to the good work ol the Secretary and other members of the Band, while later Mr Witchell made similar remarks, It was decided to play at the Paek.'e kariki Surf Club's carnival on Sunday next. A. letter was read from Miss Scaly (Matron of the Otaki Hospital) thanking the Baud for services rendered. Officers. The following were elected officers for the year;—Patron. Mr Ben Ling; President, Mr J. P. Brandon; vicepresidents, Messrs H. Witchell, Kupa Hawea, J. MoGill. J. D. Howell. V G Davie-, ami J. S. Pole; committee, Messrs H. and R. Fielding, Groun, O. R. Symoudsj A. L. Mooie, I'. Tahiwi. and What a Hakuraia; secretary find treasurer, Mr J. Fielding; conductor. Mr Wise; bandmas-ter, Mr Ctiku Hapeta. If was agreed that the Hand's charges of £lO to play at sport.- was too high, and it was agreed to charge £5, and expenses, in future.
