Mr W. vjgglekow, late of Levin, has purchased a yocng-ter by Kiibroney. Believe has broken a blood vessel and in consequence is on the easy lint. Local horses have done remarkably well in the South Bland daring the pa=t fortnight, winning several races. Mr H. S. George, owner of Treadwell, had a dream that his horse would run two seconds at a two-davs ’ meeting. The dream came true, the horse running two seconds at Tauherenikatu Beloved ran a splendid race in the big money at Tauherenikau, but failed to stay the distance, after leading to within a chain from heme Mr G. iseich’s youngster met with a mishap at T&nkeremkau through fouling with a gate. The t&n payable by the Wairarapa Racing Club on the recent race meeting amounts to £6,063 IS:, and is made up as follows: —Totalizator tns £3,875 Us, dividend tax £1,744 Bs, amusement tax £l6B 14s, stakes isx £275 Mr £.
