An exchange says:—"Scottie" : St ration, the burly boxer of the Central I Police Station, is leaving Christchurch, and that means that we are losing a good boxer.'- write- P.C. K». "I doubt whether us 'hard' a man as | Straffon will ever be round again in . professional or amateur boxing circles in Christchurch. Stocky, bullet-headed; with a punch like the kick or the left hind leg of a bull-mouse, Straffon could have done a whole lot more than he did do: but the King's Regulations do not 'let '.John Hop-' fight professionally. His style was like a whirlwind, and his face might have beet) cast-iron, for all , th" harm that any punches could do it. His fighting poise was not artistic — but neither is Jack Pempsey's left hook! Anyway, for a rutin over 30 —• it's quite true —he is a fine fighter. Good bunting. Scottie!'"
