Tlie death took place on Monday afternoon of Mr Arthur McConnon, of Levin, at the age of 12 years. For
some time Mr Mct'onnon has been in indifferent health, and lately underwent an operation, but failed to get any permanent relief. On Monday his condition necessitated further medical attention, and. accompanied by friends lie left by motor for Wellington tit 1.30 p.ni. The journey, however, appears to have accelerated the attack, and his condition grew worse, and lie succumbed at Johnsonville. During his residence in Levin. Mr McConnon followed np horse training, and met with varying success. In his younger days he was one of the leading horsemen of the Dominion, and several times headed the list of winning jockeys. His most important win was the Grand National Hurdles on Medallius. and he also won several other big jumping races. Of a genial disposition, the late Mr MeConnon had many friends, who "ill regret the news of his death.
